The XC Flex is built around its pillars. Connected and wider than the XQ's, they spread pressure across the whole length of the blade, so a push loads the runner evenly instead of concentrating under the boot.

What connected pillars do

On the XC the pillars are joined and slightly wider than on the XQ. That changes how load travels through the tube: pressure is distributed along the blade rather than peaking under the mounting points. In practice it means better power transfer on the straight and a blade that holds a line under load in the corner. The flex is kept in the lips while the top of the tube stays rigid, which is what produces the control-without-losing-speed balance the XC is bought for.

Which steel

Full PM (64 HRC) or Bi-metal/PM (66 HRC). Both give grip in the corner, smooth turning and long edge life; the harder option lasts longer between sharpenings.

Precision Bend Technology

Pre-bent to an accurate and consistent radius with our own Precision Bend Technology, so the blade you receive is measurable rather than approximate.

Where it sits in the range

Alongside the XQ in price and above it in pressure distribution. Below the XC Firm, which stiffens the pillars further for heavier skaters. Take the XC Flex if you want control and speed in the same blade; take the XC Firm if your blades give way under you.
