Find a dealerThe EHS Stainless-steel clap is our entry into clap skating, and it is a real clap blade rather than a simplified one: an aircraft-grade aluminium tube, hardened stainless runners rockered at the factory, and the same CNC-machined single-block aluminium bridges we fit further up the range.
The arc-shaped lip
The tube carries our arc-shaped lip, which places flex directly under the hinge. That flex is what makes the blade steer naturally instead of having to be forced round, and it is the reason a first clap blade can feel manageable rather than alarming. The shape is ours, and it is not a cost-down of the geometry used on the blades above.
Stainless runners
Runners are stainless, ground and hardened to close tolerance at approximately 54 HRC, and cut with a standard 24 metre rocker at the factory. Stainless takes an edge easily and forgives an imperfect stone, which is the right trade for a skater sharpening their own blades for the first time. Skaters who sharpen often, or who want the edge to last longer between sessions, should move to the bi-metal Xplorer.
Where it sits in the range
The first clap blade in the range. Below the Xplorer, which moves to a steel tube and bi-metal runners at approximately 62 HRC - a harder, longer-lasting edge on a stiffer platform. Above the EHS Stainless-steel fixed, which is the same family of construction without the clap mechanism. These two stainless-steel models are the only long track blades we build on an aluminium tube.
Choosing a length and a bridge
Available from 13.0 to 18.0 inch, with bridges listed by the boot sizes they cover, 32-33 to 46-48, plus a 165-195 mm mounting option for boots drilled to that pattern.

BLADES
- Sharpen blades regularly for optimal performance. We recommend professional sharpening services.
- Inspect blades for any signs of damage or wear before each use.
- Customise blade alignment based on personal skating style for enhanced stability.
GENERAL CARE
- Wipe blades dry after each session to prevent rusting.
- Store skates in a cool, dry place to maintain their condition.
- Replace worn-out components promptly to ensure continued safety and performance.
LONG TRACK VS. SHORT TRACK
- Long track: opt for slightly longer blades to maximise gliding efficiency.
- Short track: shorter blades provide agility and quick manoeuvring on the tight turns of the track.
EXPERT TIP
- Contact us for personalised advice on sizing and maintenance.
- Invest in skate guards to protect blades during off-ice transport.
